Year 8 Rugby

Southam V Kineton

A scrappy game at home against Kineton showed progress in areas such as tackling and defence. This was particularly true of the last 10 minutes where infringements put pressure on our line too many times. The game stated brightly with a lovely linking pass by Crump to Keen who went over in the corner. The Kineton forwards however dominated the majority of the rucks. They came back with a well worked try. Padmore showed what he could do when he had the ball in hand and jinked his way for Southam to lead 10-5. A Latus quick break and a Cook conversion saw a 17-5 lead that was kept to the end. The man of the match was shared between Monaghan and Latus. Monaghan always chasing play and Latus with power deserve this award but more will be needed for success next week in the tournament.

Well done on a great defensive display last thing lads.
